PPC Campaign Management

Debt management is a course every American needs to take simply because so many Americans are clueless when it comes to credit and debt management. This is unfortunate because many people do permanent damage to their credit record by not knowing how important managing their credit is. Also, frequently people get in trouble with debt and dont know debt management tips, so they simply get further and further behind each month. This does not have to be the case and debt management is not difficult to do, as long as you have the desire to reduce your debt. Consider these debt management suggestions to get you out of debt quick.

Debt Management Tip #1 Make Your Payments on Time
One of the most important things you can do to help your credit score is to make your payments on time. This is also a great way to avoid late charges which not only negatively impact your credit, but also negatively impacts your wallet. Debt management means making on time payments means your account will never be late, will not go into default and will not never have late fees associated with it. If you have problems making your payment on time imagine how much worse it will be when an additional $30 - $50 is tacked onto that payment.

Debt Management Tip #2 Work with Your Creditor
Proper debt management requires working with your creditors. Many times creditors have debt management plans, as well as suspended payment options if you are having financial difficulty. Avoiding your creditors will make your credit problems worse and your debt management plan will not work. So talk with your creditor because frequently they can help you, or at least relieve the pressure for a little while.

Debt Management Tip #3 Pay of Credit Cards
An important part of debt Management is paying off your credit cards. If you do not pay off your credit cards then you will pay an unbelievable amount of money in finance charges. Make paying off your credit cards one of the first goals in your debt management program. You will realize a relief in your debt within a few months and realize that a debt plan is important for everyone with debt.

Career Discovery - Pinpoint Your Ideal Career

Determine your ideal career--one that's in alignment with
your values, passions, and talents--and discover the work
you were born to do

Career discovery is the process by which a person identifies
their ideal career path, thus saving themselves a lot of
time (and money) by not pursuing career choices that they
will ultimately find unfulfilling. To find your true
calling, you need to dig around and find the things that are
important to you--now, and in the future.

Career discovery is an important process, and one of those
skills they don't really teach in high school or college.
Career counselors in school mainly focus on accessing your
skills and trying to match them up with the appropriate
career field. This can work fine for some people, but others
find that their values and beliefs change over time, and
they discover that what they thought they wanted in a career
when they were 20 isn't necessarily what they want when
they're 40.

To find a career that fits your core beliefs, values, and
skills, you really need to do an in-depth evaluation of
yourself. What do you find fulfilling in life? What are
your priorities? What's your "life purpose?" What
motivates and interests you? What skills, knowledge and
abilities to you posses? And what could you get excited
about learning in the future?

Some other important considerations:

Do you work well alone, or do you need the energy and
interaction of a group of co-workers?

Are you comfortable with the financial ups and downs that
can come with self-employment, or do you need the security
of a steady paycheck?

Do you enjoy working long hours, or would you rather be in a
career that allows you a lot of free time to spend with your
family and friends?

Do you like to commute long distances, or would you prefer a
job close to home?

Would you enjoy working outdoors, or are you an office rat
who needs to be surrounded by four walls in order to be
productive?

Do you really want a new career, or could you make your
present career acceptable with a few adjustments?

Until you can answer most of these questions satisfactorily,
I wouldn't recommend finalizing your career plans. Life is
short, as the old saying goes, and you don't want to waste
several years traveling down a path only to discover
that you've made the wrong choice.

So do your homework, take a look inside your soul, and
discover your true calling in life. Only then should you
move onto the process of formulating a new Career strategy.

A Guide For Customer Service Training Tools

Customer service refers to a person or a desk, which is set up to give general assistance to customers. Success of any company or business lies in the hand of their customers. Once a customer is satisfied with the company, then company will be in good profits. It is only our customer who put down or up the reputation of the company. Advertising is aimed chiefly at getting customers to go to a particular business. Once a customer has arrived or satisfied, it is important to provide him or her with an excellent customer service experience. A good customer experience results in repeat venture to the same business.
Providing good customer service is important to a company because it keeps their customer coming back and helps to build new customer business relationships. Every customer expects after sale service and assistance on particular product, which he or she has bought from the company.

Customer service is the most important difference between your company and competitors. Only those companies can survive who gives good customer service. For example, you visit to a bank for opening an a/c, if that bank doesnt give good customer services like Debit-cum-ATM card, Auto Invest Account, Internet Banking, Phone Banking, Anywhere Banking, Standing instructions, Nomination facility, Doorstep service etc. then that bank will loose its customers. So it is very important to get good customer relationship. Techniques for managing in a customer-service environment include revisiting strategy, processes, organization, motivation, and incentives, as well as conducting research to find out what the customer actually wants. Every compnay should understand that what a customer is looking for. One should never try to win arguments with the customers, even if you are right and the customer is wrong. These days most of the companies claim to treat customer satisfaction as an important issue. There should a proper training to employees for customer care service. Whether you are in retail business, eatery or other business, there are number of ways in which to deal with both pleased and unhappy customers so they may receive the basics of good customer service and return willing to do business with the establishment again and again.

Training is necessary in order to maintain good customer service and to keep up with the ever-changing trends of the service industry while adding to the basic building blocks of friendly and efficient customer service. Despite all these efforts, it is still argued that many organizations are not good at service and that large organizations in particular are frustrating for the customer to deal with.

Every company should commit to provide its customers with a high standard of service. In the event of not meeting customers expectations, company should like to hear from customers. By letting company know when customers are dissatisfied with company service, customer gives company the opportunity to resolve their particular issue and to improve company service for the benefit of all the customers. So to grow faster companies need to manage their customers efficiently.

Building a Strong Business Relationship

When it comes to business and sales, building a strong relationship is critical. The stronger your relationship is with your customer, the more likely they will be to refer you business.

Every day, make an attempt to build on the relationships you have with your customer. Dont just say hi as they walk in and goodbye as they leave.

The last thing you want to do is make your customer feel like a statistic.

Let them know that their business with you is appreciated. Talk to them, strike up a non-business conversation with them. It could involve just about anything, such as the weather, sports, a movie, pets, etc.

Non-business conversation puts your customer at ease and gets them talking. The more they talk to you, the more they will open up to you, opening the door for more sales opportunities.

Or, you can keep it simple. For starters, get to know you customers by name, than address them by name. Say things such as, hows it going today? Or how was your weekend? Or is there anything I can help you with today? Make your presence known and felt.

Your customer wants to be appreciated, so take a few minutes of your time to show them that you care about them as a customer.

Another way to strengthen your relationship with your customer is to keep a Rolodex handy with a list of all of your customers birthdays, anniversaries, and special events. Keep your eyes and ears open for when customers talk about up coming events in their lives. Such as childrens birthdays and graduations.

When the appropriate date approaches, send your customer a card, wether it is a holiday card, a birthday card, a graduation card, or a congratulatory card. Just send it.

Your customers will appreciate the fact that you remembered them on their special day. This will only strengthen the relationship you already have with them.

There are many reasons to build a strong relationship with your customer, but two of the reasons remain to be key.

One main reason is that customers value and appreciate good customer service. They want the piece of mind of knowing that if something ever happened with their product or service, that they would have you to turn to as their go to person.

This is extremely important because your customer will have this in mind when your competition moves in to take them away.

And believe me, your competition will try to take them away. As long as you provide excellent customer service, your customer will stick with you.
There is no substitute for excellent customer service.

Customer service is the most important thing to a customer, even more important than fees.

The second reason building relationships are so important is because of the referral process.

A customer that is treated with respect and provided excellent will most assuredly refer their family and friends to you. Why wouldnt they?

Your most important asset is your customer, so build and strengthen the foundations you have with them. Buy building strong relationships, you will be building your sales. Good luck.

Reaching Goals in Direct Sales

As you probably know, a company cannot grow unless it is making sales. When it comes down to it, the sales force at any company, regardless of industry, is among the most important departments. But the problem with this is that sales can often times be the most difficult thing to teach. After all, not everybody is a natural salesman. If you are interested in helping your sales people to succeed, you should look into getting professional training for them. Although you may have to pay for professional sales training, in the long run this is more of an investment than an expense.

The great thing about professional sales training is that it will give your employees the confidence and skills needed to take their work to the next level. Not only will sales training give them detailed information on how to work better with potential customers, but many tricks of the trade will also be touched on. As you can imagine, a few professional sales training sessions can go a long way in helping your company take their profits from one level to the next.

If you are interested in sales training for your company, there are two options for you to look into. First off, you can hire a professional sales training company to work with your employees. As you can imagine, this can be an expensive option, but as mentioned above, it is one that works. To keep costs down, you may want to simply purchase some sales training DVDs from a professional company. This way, you can get all the information you need without having to pay for personal sessions. Most sales training companies have their own DVDs that touch on a number of different aspects within this industry.

All in all, sales training can help your company in more ways than you could ever imagine. If your sales people are not reaching their quotas on a regular basis, you should consider what professional sales training can do for them.

Leave Your Buts Behind for Great Customer Service

On any given errand day, I can walk into almost any store and deal with a bad customer service representative. While looking for an item, such as out-of-stock laundry detergent, Im met with frowns, blank stares, and I dont know types of answers. Whatever happened to great customer service and pride in ones work?

Customer service can be defined as simply the ability to provide a product or service in the way promised, but it should be viewed by business owners and employees as so much more. Customer service should be viewed as customer care. Not only should you treat your customers the way youd want to be treated, but you want to go above and beyond even that. Customer care should be viewed as one of the basic philosophies of your business. Without your customers, you wouldnt have a business. They should be treated with respect at all times. Not only should you be providing the highest quality goods or service in your market, but you should be doing so with the right attitude, the highest amount of knowledge, technical support and doing so with a smile.

Customer service is a dying art form in most businesses today. Its like they dont care about their customers at all. Salespeople and store employees often display a complete lack of respect for the customers, no willingness to learn about the products or services theyre representing, and even the lack of a smile on their faces.

Lack of good customer care leads to disgruntled customers who complain to other potential customers about their bad experiences, loss of income and potentially even a complete shut-down.

Customer service skills shouldnt be employed only when customers are complaining, nor should it be used only as a last resort by a manager whos called over to deal with an escalating situation. Customer service should become one of the cornerstones of your organization. Every contact with your business should leave the customer feeling respected, cared about and content with the outcome.

Train your employees to think about angry/rude/impatient customer situations like this:
1. Am I doing something to elicit this response from the customer?
2. Do I deserve this behavior?
3. Why is the customer acting this way? What can I do to improve it?

Any representatives of your business should always answer any and all questions from your customers as promptly as possible, as politely as possible and with a smile.

When you utilize good customer service skills and truly value your customers place within your company, you will earn more business. They will refer friends and family to you for the same great service they received and theyll keep coming back themselves. Let your customers know that theyre the backbone of your business and build relationships with them. Give them the mom-and-pop shop sentimentality, even if your company is more like a mega-mall.

All You Need To Know About Social Networking Sites

Business networking puts more money in your pocket by helping you overcome the number one biggest problem facing new business owners. Prospecting for new customers. Business networking events can go a long way towards making the whole prospecting problem go away. There are two main kinds of networking opportunities available to the average entrepreneur. Passive networking and strong networking. Both have unique benefits and drawbacks.

The most well known example of passive networking is your local chamber of commerce. You can find a chamber of commerce chapter in almost every major city worldwide. Your local chamber of commerce gives you the opportunity to meet with many of the movers and shakers in your local business community. Through the many events they plan on a monthly and yearly basis, they offer you a chance to connect with a number of potential prospects for your products and services.

Weekly networking groups or clubs are an example of strong networking opportunities. These kinds of business networking events can be found in many major cities worldwide. A strong networking group will meet on a weekly basis for the sole purpose of exchanging business leads with one another and learning better ways of networking to grow their business. The most successful networking groups require your weekly attendance and insist that their members provide fellow members with referrals throughout the year. They also allow only one person from each profession or industry to belong to the group. This keeps the quality of the referrals high. One such group is Business Network International (BNI).

So what are the advantages and disadvantages of each kind of networking? They both have their place but strong networking groups represent a bigger commitment than passive networking groups. By belonging to a strong networking group, you are committed to be on the lookout for referrals for group members. Strong networking groups also usually meet on a weekly basis whereas passive networking groups usually meet monthly.

Passive networks can have multiple people from one profession or industry as members. They also have no requirements for passing on referrals to other members. Referrals do occur in a passive networking event but it is not facilitated by the meeting and is totally up to the business owner to initiate. You can belong to multiple passive networking groups. Any business you get from passive networking will most likely be a result of the amount of effort you put in.

Strong networks on the other hand restrict membership to only one person per industry or profession. This greatly increases the likelihood that you will receive referrals from participating members. Meetings are structured in a way to encourage referrals and there is a formal referral exchange that happens every week. It is strongly recommended that you only belong to one strong networking group in order to keep the quality of your referrals high.

In either case, it is important for members of these groups to see you as professional and competent. Referrals will go to people the referrer knows, likes and trusts.

Want more business? Start attending business events in your area.

Business Opportunity - What Should A Business Opportunity Provide You?

There are many types of grants offered by the Governments and other financial institutions that include individual grants for personal necessities, business grants for starting new business, education grants for funding education and many more. One of the best places to research the availability of business grants and loans is the Small Business Administration, an agency of the federal government with a mandate to help business, especially small business succeed. Despite what many people tell you, the idea that the government is just sitting around with a pile of money waiting to give out to you or any other small business is just plain wrong. Statistics show that a large portion of the world's population owns and runs a small business.

While the Small Business Administration does not have any monies to provide directly for business grants and loans they can direct businesses to a number of government agencies and departments that do provide this type of assistance. Even though the category of Business and Commerce may be what appears to have the largest selection of resources for business grants for women, consider the other categories as well, according to where your business falls.

There are two main types of financing available for small businesses; small business grants and small business loans. It is important to realize that many grants that are available cannot be awarded to small businesses because in many cases, a small business is operating for a profit. This is not to say that assistance is not available at all, just that grants are probably a long process when and if you happen to find one where your small business fits.

So, are there any grants available to you as a small business owner? You are not along if you need small business grants and loans to get your business started. Your chances of obtaining grants for your business dramatically increase if you have a non-profit organization.

New business owners and existing business owners are eligible to apply for business grants. Another option when starting your business would be to apply for private grants from foundations and corporations. If you are considering starting your own home Business in the near future you should consider researching small business grants and loans now.

If you are interested in looking for a company that can provide you with small administration grants, you can try searching through the http://GovGrantsGuide.com for information.

Branding Expert Ed Delia to Deliver Live Webcast on Leadership Branding

Selling at a given perspective can be viewed as tedious and meticulous. If you include the overall process, that will make the subject a little complex.

Selling, according to a poem, is everyones business. Selling is knowing whos your competition, market and what is important. It is knowing your service, idea, product and your market needs. It is knowing what are accepted and what are not. Selling is knowing how to treat and be treated. In a nutshell, selling is knowing - knowing the line of work of selling.

Successful brokers and agents are saying that when they have assimilated data successfully, chances are they are going to bag a purchase. Salesmen are saying that if they have already determined the needs, objectives and goals of the potential client, there is no need to sell, they will just come. Businessmen, on the other hand, are saying that if there is already a mutual feeling of trust and confidence it will be easier to sell.

One of the striking strategies in selling is by branding. Coke, Revlon, Adidas and the rest of the widely-popular brands became bearably popular by reason of branding. Branding, so to speak, is image building. It imbibes a certain stigma in connection to the thing it is associated with. Though the widely used kind of branding is done with products, branding can also be done to services like in legal services that a lawyer is offering. Also, it is applicable to persons especially celebrities and politicians. Branding is oftentimes widespread during the building up stage of a star and for politicians, in times of election.

Almost all large companies are using branding in order to solicit familiarity and brand retention. This is the reason why companies at the middle stratum are thinking that it involves large amount of money in order to make Branding possible. This is not always the case. Branding can be made by using promotional materials like printed T-shirt, key, tags, mugs, pens, bags, CD holders, badge holders, calendars, clocks, caps, balloons and other promotional specialties. This is what we call image along with direct sales approach.

A brilliant selling investment need not be expensive. It just needs a dash of imagination, creativity and a slice of resources. The goal is to make the consumers think about the product to make him forget the rest of the products being marketed. Try this type of strategy and be the living witness of its impressive results!

Sales Force Automation System - A System to Save Time and Money!

Reaching Goals in Direct Sales

From surveys and experience, we've noticed many setting excellent goals for their business. We've also noticed that while the goals being set are good, the results aren't. Around 90% of those in Direct Sales do SET goals, but never reach them.

So the question comes to mind.....are you making the right plans to reach your goals? It's GREAT to set a certain amount you want to make, so you have a little motivation, but without the proper planning reaching that goal is going to be more difficult.

Ask yourself the following questions:

What have you done in the past that created sales?
How can you improve on ideas for creating sales?
What ideas for sales have you seen but not tried?

Take a minute to write down every way you can think of to make your Sales (such as through parties, catalog shows, drawings, etc), then make some more specific goals for doing each task. Such as "contact 10 people and book at least 3 shows".

Once you have a plan in motion, be sure to stick with it! A dream won't become reality if you are just simply wishing for it.

If you have an idea of how to get to your goal, well that's half the battle. The next part of course is taking action. You should have your goals AND plans clearly written in a place you can see. It's true everyone has their own way of setting and reaching goals, which is fine, but everyone needs to have them BOTH written down in some way.

If you don't have a goal or even a plan, now is a perfect time to start!

BMW Announces Sales from Jan-April 2007

Many business owners who struggle in their business tell me that they struggle because they get very inconsistent sales. They can get a new client once in a while, they sell an e-book or two every month, but they don't get anymore sales.

Because they have such inconsistent sales, they don't make a lot of money in their business. Having inconsistent sales also means that they can't schedule events and teleclasses. Since few people buy their products, they will not be able to fill up their teleclasses or other events, and they will not be able to make money with them.

Inconsistent sales also cause a lot of stress. Not knowing whether you will have sales next week or next month creates a high-stress and high-pressure environment for many business owners.

It is much easier to run your business if your business brings in consistent sales. With consistent sales you make more money, you have enough clients, you are able to plan ahead for your business, and you are successful.

So how to turn slow, inconsistent sales into consistent sales? Consistent sales can take your business to a whole new level. I have analyzed many businesses, and found two main causes of inconsistent sales. Here are the causes and how to correct them:

Reason 1 for inconsistent sales is not having enough business prospects. To have your business generates sales on a consistent basis, you need to create a stream of prospects constantly coming to your business. Since not every business prospect is going to buy from you, you need to have many prospects coming to your business and web site every single day. Some of these prospects will turn into buyers, while others will not. Having a large daily stream of prospects at your web site will help you generate consistent sales.

There are many online marketing techniques that you can use to attract prospects to your web site. One of the best ones is publishing an effective newsletter on a regular basis. When you publish an effective newsletter you are able to keep in touch with your potential customers and prospects on a regular basis.

As they receive your newsletters on a regular basis, they learn more about you and how you can help them. When the time comes for them to make a purchase, they know they are going to buy from you.

Publish an effective newsletter on a regular basis. It will help you bring more people to your business web site.

Reason 2 for inconsistent sales is your web site prospects do not turn into customers. I have met many business owners who have a lot of traffic coming to their web site, but they still don't have consistent sales. If your web site gets a lot of web site visitors, but you don't get enough sales, you look into your web copy. Your web copy is what makes a difference between a prospect buying your product or a prospect not buying from you and moving on to the next web site instead.

Review your web copy and re-write it into web copy that sells. Do this and you will turn many of your web site visitors into customers.

Start working on getting consistent online sales! Consistent sales mean more money, more clients and a stress-free life.

Delivering Fantastic Service!

If you are a loan officer or mortgage broker looking to begin the purchase of internet mortgage leads, here are three things you will want to consider.

Number one, pricing. You want to make sure you get what you pay for. Pricing also determines the quality of the lead you are getting.

If you are paying two bucks per lead, there is no doubt you are purchasing recycled junk.

If the leads you are buying are more costly, than it is safe to say you are buying good quality leads. Most likely they are being sold in real time, and, or exclusively. But make sure you find out by speaking with someone in customer service.

Number two, where are the leads coming from?

If the leads are being purchased from third party companies, than once again, it is more than likely that the leads are recycled junk. If you came across this scenario, seriously consider moving onto the next company.

Stick to the companies that own and operate their own lead generation sites, this is pretty much a guarantee that your leads will be fresh, as opposed to going through the hands of countless loan officers before reaching your desk.

And number three, how is the customer service? Make sure you are satisfied with their customer service before you invest. Customer service is always a direct indication of the company product. If you are not happy with the , than more than likely, you will not be happy with the product, which in this case would be the leads. Best of luck.

10 Networking Myths For Newbies-To-Networking

Trade shows are a great place to network and to meet other people, and learn about whos doing what. Here are some tips that will ensure you to maximize the networking opportunities at any trade show.

1. Make an effort to visit as many vendors as you can at any trade show and collect information that are useful for you regarding their offer, which are their ideal client and their target market. Therefore do not let the opportunity to meet the exhibitors at any trade show slip out of your hand instead try to seize the best out of it.

2. Be a good listener than a good orator because you need to find out their business and their personal interests that matches yours so that these collected information at trade show are easy to reach later when you follow-up.

3. Try to make your networking efforts at any trade show interesting by planning to meet at least one new person every 10-15 minutes, collecting reliable information for your follow-up rapidly and not at a snail pace otherwise you will be the loser.

4. Value the people you come in contact in the trade show and set yourself as a significant, easily approachable resource of solution to any problems. Even if you are unable to find solutions to their problems you can direct them to the exhibitor you met earlier who might have a great solution for them or introduce them to someone else you know at the event who you think they might be able to make a good connection with.

5. Business cards are a significant tool in maximizing the networking opportunities at any trade show. It is important to make a couple of notes about what you learned about them or to write a quick like note that will add value to your card like the name of a website they might find useful, a book, another networking event, after asking for a business cards or prior to handing someone your own business card respectively.

6. Follow-up is probably the most important tip of all to maximize your networking opportunities at any trade show. Your efforts at any trade show will surely bear fruit of success if you make contacts during the week following the show, with each person you met through hand written note and a voice mail, brief phone conversation or an e-mail. It does not matter how you contacted but the time plays an important factor in building a relationship. The lesser is the time gap between the events and the contact the more is the surety of success.

Internet Marketing: Getting Started

Quite a few clients have told me that marketing is difficult for them. It is difficult to get started with marketing; it is difficult to figure out how to market, and it is difficult to understand how to market effectively. Even if you are already using marketing techniques to promote your business, there is no guarantee that your marketing efforts will bring the results you are looking for.

I have put together a simple plan for you to take charge of your marketing and to simplify at least some of the process. Here are five marketing steps:

- Define What Needs To Be Done. What are you marketing? Is it a product or a service? What are the results you are looking for? Would you like to generate more sales, more leads, more partners? Which online marketing techniques are you planning to use? Search engine optimization, article marketing, newsletter publishing? The better you define these points, the easier it will be for you to put your marketing plan into motion.

- Break Your Plan Into Bite-Size Pieces. Divide-and-conquer is a proven, time-tested technique for managing complicated tasks. If your goal is to optimize your web site for search engines, your bite-size pieces will include learning about search engine optimization, performing keyword research, optimizing your pages, optimizing your copy, etc. It is much easier to follow along when you map out the steps.

- Understand The Marketing Process. It is really difficult to apply a marketing technique if you do not have a good understanding of the process. For example, if you do not know how to use article marketing to promote your business, you will not be able to use it to market. Learning about marketing is essential. It will help you market now, and you can use your newly acquired marketing knowledge to continue marketing your business for years to come.

- Don't Try to Do Everything At Once. Don't start using five marketing techniques at the same time. You will simply end up jumping from one method to another, without spending a proper amount of time on any one of them. If you do not devote sufficient time to applying a marketing technique, you will not get results. Take some time to learn and apply a new marketing technique. Then, once you are seeing results, move on to the next one.

- Track Your Results. Tracking your results (or lack thereof) helps you understand what has produced results and what hasn't. It also helps you compare different marketing methods and to determine which one(s) produce better results for your business.

Use this five point plan to better market your business and get results from marketing your business online.

Project Management Planning

Publishing Guidelines: You may publish my article in your newsletter, on your website or in your print publication provided you include the resource box at the end. Notification would be appreciated but is not required.

By S. Maurer

A Project Management Rule: Embrace uncertainty, expect the unexpected ; there is far more that we do not know and cant know than what we can anticipate.

Project Management planning is preparation for those who will be in action; we waste our time when we plan by ourselves.

Easily understood in practice but everyone can recollect a Project Management that has been completed late or run over budget.

A Project Management Rule: Coordinate meticulously.

Do not wait til the project has gone south to get their help; start out that way; continue collaborating as the usual way you work through the project.

Some typical tasks may include: 1 - Reports to management, 2 - Pieces of code for an application, 3 - Project Management definition documents, 4 - Any small [or large] item that contributes to reaching the state goal of the Project Management.

A Project Management managed by a team of people who do not get along will probably face many more challenges and have great difficulty overcoming obstacles than the project with a team that works well together and blends in a little fun.

The Project Management definition tells you what is inside and what is outside the box, it sets limits on the Project Management.

Project Management outsourcing, multiple locations and home offices have made older single computer and network Project systems antiquated and virtually useless.

Business Branding

Hello Friend,

The term "branding" is very popular in the business marketing world. Branding refers to creating an image for a company or product. For example, when you think of Snuggle fabric softener, what do you think of? Probably a soft cuddly bear, soft sheets, towels and blankets that smell good and clothes that feel great to wear. That's exactly what the company that makes Snuggle wants you to think of and they've spent millions to ensure you do just that. Welcome to the world of branding.

Companies spend thousands of dollars on branding efforts each and every year. In fact, many marketing professionals believe that branding is critical to the long-term success of a business. If you want your business to thrive and grow, you're going to want to look into branding. The good news is, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to do it. There are cost effective ways to brand your DVD business and you'll achieve the same results others pay thousands for. The best part? You'll be one of the very few eBay sellers focusing time and effort on the benefits of branding.

One of the most effective branding tools is a logo. If you do absolutely nothing else in your branding efforts, at least have a logo created that your customers can recognize you by. How much you spend on logo creation will depend on how complicated and intricate you want your logo to be and who you hire to create your logo for you. You can get a basic logo for less than a hundred bucks or you can have a logo done by an expert artist for a few hundred. Remember, regardless of how much you spend, an outstanding and memorable logo is well worth the investment.

Once your logo is created, put it on everything. Put it in your auction template, but it on your mailing labels, put it on a t-shirt, etc. The more your logo circulates, the more brand recognition you're creating for your business. You can even have little business card magnets made up with your logo and website address on them and can send them out with your DVD orders. There are thousands of things you can do with a logo.

In addition to your logo, you're going to want a tagline for your business. For example, right now McDonald's has a tagline of "I'm loving it" and people all over the world can't get that little tune out of their head when they have the urge for a fast-food lunch or dinner. That's what I call an effective tagline. Develop a tagline that reflects what your business is about and what you are committed to. For instance, "Affordable DVDs and Awesome Service" is a basic and simple tagline, yet it gets across the image of your business.

If image is everything, branding is the money that buys you whatever you want. Without , you cannot effectively create an image for your business and without a business image, there's nothing to set you apart from your competitors.

If you have any questions, please contact me using the email address below.

Lead Generation Isn't About Getting the MOST People, It's About Getting the Most Qualified People

Something Ive seen over and over is that many of my clients originally believe that marketing and lead generation is supposed to bring as many people through the door as possible. It isnt. It is about getting the most qualified people through the door.

Ive developed a rule of thumb in my business consulting that has helped me identify one of the big problems my clients frequently have. The rule goes this way:

If there are
two different groups responsible for lead generation and sales, and
o if marketing success (advertising, lead generation) seems extraordinarily high,
o while the sales close ratio is way down (maybe 1 in 10)
then the chances are that the marketing and lead generation efforts are not qualifying the leads. The target has been to get the most people through the door instead of the most qualified people.

One of my sales trainees ended up with an extremely high cold calling response rate. It was nearly 90% of every live person she could reach. She was convincing nearly everyone she could actually talk to to explore the next steps.

She had convinced one of the other companies in the class to hire her to do their telemarketing. The result of her telemarketing was that she was bringing in a flood of leads to their sales department. The problem was that the sales department was not able to close many of these leads.

She could generate lots of leads. She could generate a lot of interest but she had failed to qualify these people, to make sure that they could and would be able to buy.

On one hand it proved that what we had been doing in the sales training worked as she was able to generate so much interest. On the other, she was abusing the influencing skills she had developed in our class, and wasnt qualifying the people before passing the lead on to sales.

Let me give you another rule of thumb I use. The sales process usually is more labor intensive than the marketing and lead generation process. If the leads arent being qualified in the marketing step then a lot of time is wasted in the sales process talking to unqualified people. The sales response rates will drop and not really indicate the true sales success.

If a sales person is talking to a qualified prospect his sales close ratio should be in the 40-50%, or even higher, range. However, if he is fed leads that arent qualified, he is having to qualify leads that should have been qualified by the marketing and lead generation process and taking a lot of valuable sales time. Now his sales success will go through the floor.

So, if you see a high marketing, lead generation success and low sales success look into the fact that they might be receiving unqualified leads as a potential cause before accusing sales of being failures or before providing training to the sales department.

If, as is frequently the case, the sales department is also responsible for generating their own leads, Ive frequently seen sales people that are excellent at lead generation but couldnt close a deal if their job depended on it, and it does. Ive also seen excellent closers that couldnt find a lead with both hands. Evaluate your sales team by assessing these two separate skills. They are, indeed, two separate skills and frequently not at the same skill level in your sales people.

Business Plans

Way back in business school we had to churn out business plans every semester. As soon as the assignment would drop we would be scrambling for information. Start the number crunching game, do the analysis, do some mental planning and write business plans.

Then we graduated and got jobs. But, we still have to write business plans.

I came across a collection called Business Plans from 'Business-planning-4-you' (http://business.marc8.com/ebook-info.php/name/business_plans/toc_id/1-0-1-5) a few weeks ago. The title caught my eye as I wondered who would be giving away business plans and how many? How would they manage the number of industries? I wanted to find out more.

- It seems that they have over 1500 readymade business plans in their database.
- Covers a wide range of industries: from Abattoir Business Plan to Zen Practitioner Business Plan.
- The cost is $50 as of this writing. That makes it 3 cents per business plan (50/1500 = 0.03).
- They offer about 24 extra bonuses

I know I would be happy with the business plan templates that I could modify and add my own thoughts. I think it would be like instant soup. You have bought the basic ingredient, but you still need to provide a little bit more like hot water and a bowl.

Though I haven't tried the collection myself it looks quite good. I think this would be useful if you are in Business school, early part of your career, or even a seasoned business man venturing into new areas.

Till next week and all the best with your business planning!

A career change needs lot of mental preparation. If you have a family, that may get disrupted by your career change. The income may stop for some time. The decision itself may turn out to be a wrong one. It needs mental strength to change career. Let us see what it requires.

A change of career shifts us from a comfort zone to a zone full of discomfort in the beginning. For a full time production engineer, a change to a career as human resources consultant may need a total about turn, back to school and learning new skills for the new job. Some people change careers so totally that it looks incredible. Let us talk about changes that can be done more smoothly. I am talking about learning about a new career along with the old one and then shifting to the new career slowly. This process also requires mental strength, because it needs lot of extra work.

The first barrier that one encounters while thinking of career change is- how did I get into a wrong career? What if my new decision also turns out to be wrong? What if I continue with my present career? Why should I change my career? Some of these questions need head to answer and some questions are for the heart such as asking why did I chose the wrong career to begin with, may involve damage to self esteem, and acceptance of failure.

Before thinking of changing career, one needs to do analysis of life goals, and deciding about how the present career does not satisfy those goals. Only after deciding that something drastic needs to be done can one think about changing . One has to develop mental and emotional strength to undergo these changes and emerge a winner again.

Marketing costs must be "ordinary and necessary" business expenses in order to be deductible. Put in layman's terms, you marketing must be reasonably related to the promotion of your business and the expense amount must be a reasonable amount.

Deductible Marketing Expenses

Common deductible marketing expenses include the costs associated with the following items:

A. Yellow Page Advertisements,

B. Business Cards,

C. Advertisements in print media such as newspapers,

D. TeleMarketing,

E. Business Cards,

F. Web site costs including creation and maintenance,

G. Costs for Advertisements on the Internet,

H. Billboards, and

I. Graphic design costs.

Goodwill Marketing For Your Business

Marketing that is intended to portray your business positively can be deducted. Such marketing creates a long-term potential for business and, thus, falls within the ordinary and normal requirements of the tax code. Examples of such marketing include:

A. Sponsoring local youth sports teams,

B. Distributing samples of your business product, and

C. Costs associated with prizes offered by your business in a contest.

As long as your expenses can be reasonably related to the promotion of your business, you should be deducting said expenses from your gross revenues. If you failed to claim any such expenses on your tax returns, your probably overpaid your taxes.
